With the costs of presenting your work at DDW out of reach for many upcoming designers, how can we make this process more inclusive?

What are the true costs of participating in design festivals and how can we visualise this?

 

We are 1m2 collective and we are looking for upcoming design talent to join an exhibition at this year's Dutch Design Week! Our goal is to crowdfund a one square metre exhibition that gives stage to as much upcoming design talent as possible and in turn opens the conversation about the financial barrier of participating in design festivals.

 

1m2 Collective is a platform to unite new design talent and highlight changes needed in the professional design field. Through positive protest, and provocative research we aim to stimulate the conversation about how to create a more inclusive design industry.

 

1m2 collective will display as many designers as possible in 1m2 of ground space at the Van Abbe Museum during DDW '21.
